Monaghan Coaching & Games delivered an U7 all county GR8 Go Games blitz in St Tiarnach’s Park, Clones on Saturday 11th August. On the day we had 23 clubs take part, with over 40 teams taking part on the day. Clubs who attended on the day included Scotstown, Monaghan Harps, Eire Og, Currin, Killeevan, Corduff, Magheracloone, Clontibret, Drumhowan, Killanny, Tyholland, Clones, Inniskeen, Emyvale, Carrick, Latton, Aghabog, Rockcorry & Donaghmoyne.
It was great to see the kids play on the hallowed turf of St Tiarnach’s Park where they watch their heroes play during the summer. The weather on the day was kind as well, which further added to the children’s experience of playing in Clones.
The kids really enjoyed the experience and we thank everyone for making this possible. The kids played 3 rounds of matches against other clubs which made for some very entertaining games over the weekend. Some brilliant levels of skill on show also from all the teams which is a credit to their club and coaches for the hard work they are putting into their youth.
We would like the thank the mentors and clubs for getting back to us very early with team numbers and confirmation of attendance so early which made organising the blitz very easy.
Big thanks to Tommy McCabe and Clones GAA for allowing us use of the pitch and special thanks to the grounds staff for having the pitch in immaculate condition which it is all year round.
A special thanks also to the coaches who refereed the games. They done a brilliant job officiating and coaching on Saturday.
Thanks also to the full time staff at Monaghan Coaching & Games for helping out on the day.
Big thanks to the clubs again for their continued support of the Go Games which is great for the development of the younger generation.
Thanks also to GR8 for sponsoring our Go Games Programme.
