Residual prizes: €100 Mairéad White c/o Ashley White; €40 Erin Kelly c/o Séamus Treanor; €40 F O’Connor c/o Paudge Connolly; €40 Kevin Smyth c/o Brian O’Sullivan (Hurling Club). Jackpot for Sunday, May 27 is €2,200 and Gráinne and Owen Connell are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Thanks to everyone for their support for our Lotto, which plays a critical role in our club’s funding. We ask all club members to continue to promote our Lotto as much as possible.

Hugh Coyle: We were delighted to host a 60th birthday party for our own Hugh Coyle in the clubhouse last Friday night. Some of Hugh’s family members and many of his friends joined us on the night, where we presented ‘Mr. Harps’ with a special personalised jacket, a specially-made card and certificate from the club, giving Hugh his own seat in our stand at Gavan Duffy Park. We also donated money to two causes close to Hugh’s heart: Monaghan Arch Club and Monaghan Special Olympics, who will be sending 16 athletes to the National Games in Dublin next month. Harps Chairman Jimmy Croarkin told the big crowd present about the regard all in the club has for Hugh, who then thanked everyone for attending. Thanks to all the club members involved in organising this great night, especially to Pádraig and Karin Callan and well done must go to Karin for the fantastic cake!

Seniors: We were edged out at home to Inniskeen in the Shoe City Senior Football League last Friday. We led narrowly for much of the first half, with Éimhín Morahan, Liam Hahessy and Thomas Croarkin on target, but Inniskeen rallied to lead by 0-7 to 0-6 at the interval. Éimhín, Conor Galligan, Aodhán Óg McAnespie, Dylan McKenna and Gary White kicked points in the second half, but we fell just short in the end on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-15. We are away to Castleblayney in the SFL this Sunday at 3pm. All support welcome.

Team and scorers: Emmett McArdle; Gareth Treanor, Conor Galligan (0-1), Niall Ward; Thomas Croarkin (0-1), John Mulligan, David Lowry; Nicholas Scott (Capt.), Aodhán Óg McAnespie (0-1); Dylan McKenna (0-1), Éimhín Morahan (0-5, 2f), Niall McManus; Liam Hahessy (0-3, 2f), Gary White (0-1), Francis Lynch.

Reserves: There was also a narrow defeat for a much-changed team in last Wednesday’s Platinum Tanks RFL Division 2B game at home to Clones. A team featuring four minors and several players making their first appearances at this level this year trailed by 1-11 to 0-6 at half-time, but a spirited second-half effort took us close to getting a result. With goal-scorer Conor McCrystal among seven players on the mark, we fell just short on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-15.

Team and scorers: Dylan McAree; Conor McCarron, Turlough Clerkin, David Leane; Brendan McQuaid, Conor Forde (Capt., 0-2), Nathan O’Donoghue (0-2, 1f); Niall Ward, Niall McManus; Colm Shalvey (0-2), Jason McHugh (0-2), Conor McCrystal (1-1); Seán Conway, Ben Kearns-Flynn (0-3, 1 ’45), Dessie McGarry (0-1).

Sub: Evan Doherty for Conway.

We host Magheracloone in the O’Duffy Cup championship quarter-finals this evening (Friday) at 7.45pm.

U-15: Our U-15 Division One team were pipped away to Magheracloone last Thursday. We got off to a flying start, with points from Tiarnán O’Rourke and Ben Myers, followed by goals from Jamie Coyle and Ben, putting us ahead. Scores from Shay Cooney and Kevin Moran helped us stretch our lead, but the game turned in the space of a few minutes before half-time when Magheracloone rallied strongly to cut our lead to the minimum: 3-7 to 3-6. Shay, Jake Power and Josh Kelly were on target in the second half, but Magheracloone grabbed another brace of goals to end up on the right side of a high-scoring game: 5-12 to 3-14.

Team and scorers: Karol Parszywka; Jake McConnon, James Curley, Jordan Crampton; Gary Devlin, Tiarnán O’Rourke (0-1), Mark McManus; Daragh Croarkin, Kevin Moran (0-1); Jake Power (0-3), Liam Conway (Capt.), Jamie Coyle (1-0); Josh Kelly (0-1), Ben Myers (2-2), Shay Cooney (0-6, 3f).
