Seniors: We are away to Scotstown on Sunday for the third five-point game in the Senior Football League. Throw-in is at 2pm. All support welcome.

Reserves: Both of our reserve teams had hard-earned away league wins last weekend.

We belatedly started our Division 2B campaign with a 2-7 to 1-8 win in Aghabog on Friday evening. Goals by Jason McHugh and Conor Duffy helped us lead by 2-2 to 0-4 at half-time and although Aghabog rallied, a determined effort saw us get off the mark, helped by points from Conor Forde, John Mulligan and Dessie McGarry.

Team and scorers: Dylan McAree; Niall McManus, Aidan Burns, Nathan O’Donoghue; Conor Forde (Capt., 0-1), John Mulligan (0-1f), Jamie Shields; Dylan McKenna, Richard Wilkie; Pat Meehan, Francis Lynch, Conor Duffy (1-1); Colm Shalvey (0-2), Jason McHugh (1-1, 0-1f), Turlough Clerkin.

Subs: Seán Peyton for Wilkie, Darragh Hannon for Meehan, Dessie McGarry (0-1) for Shalvey, Dillon Duffy for Clerkin, Morgan McDonagh for McHugh, Pauric Murphy for O’Donoghue.

We then travelled to Killanny for round four in Division 1B on Sunday. Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half, we started well with points by Éimhín Morahan, James McKenna and Conor Forde, only to end up trailing by 0-8 to 0-3 at the interval. Second-half goals by Conor Forde and Francis Lynch turned the game in our favour and with Dylan McKenna, Richard Wilkie and Conor McCrystal also on the scoresheet, we ended up narrow winners on a 2-9 to 1-11 scoreline.

Team and scorers: Darragh Hannon; Niall Ward, Aidan Burns, Niall McManus; Thomas Croarkin, James McKenna (0-1), Niall Treanor; Dylan McKenna (0-1), Richard Wilkie (0-1); Conor Forde (1-1), Seán Peyton, Conor Duffy; Francis Lynch (1-1), Éimhín Morahan (Capt., 0-3, 1f), Jason McHugh.

Subs: Conor McCrystal (0-1f) for McHugh, Peter Coyle for Ward, Morgan McDonagh for Wilkie.

We defeated Aughnamullen in Division 1B on Wednesday, while next Wednesday sees Division 2B continue with a home game against Corduff at 7.30pm.

Saturday-morning coaching: Our popular Saturday-morning coaching and games sessions for our youngest juveniles started up again last weekend and will continue every Saturday at 10am. Saturday-morning football for boys and girls (from 4 years old and up) in Gavan Duffy Park continues to go from strength to strength. The club is very fortunate to have a pool of hardworking and dedicated individuals who look after and coach these ‘early learners’. Our Saturday-morning activities are fun-filled and enjoyed by the children and are an equally rewarding and enjoyable experience for those who help make it happen, so we encourage anyone with an interest to get involved.

Minors: Our minor footballers fell short at home to a strong Aughnamullen side last Tuesday (April 10). Scores from the likes of Conor McCrystal and Oisín Fagan kept our lads in touch in a well-contested first half, but missed chances came back to haunt the Harps. A goal from sub Corey McArdle and a point from Conor left our lads within touching distance early in the second half, but Aughnamullen pulled away thereafter to run out convincing winners.

Team: Daragh Croarkin; Andrew Lyden, Killian Conlon, Stephen Ward; Oisín Fagan, David Leane, Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh (Capt.); Lorcan O’Rourke, Lochlainn Power; Dean Doherty, Adam O’Neill, Conor McCrystal; Luke Coyle, Seán Conway, Anann Connor.

Panel: Corey McArdle, Conor Devlin, James McKenny, Jamie McCarron, Shane McCabe, Mujtaba Gamal, Terence McDonald, Oisín Power, Cathal Nally, Conor McCarron, Eoghan McGinnity.

Our minors are away to St. Patrick’s in Drumhowan next Tuesday (April 24) at 7.30pm.

U-15: The U-15 Football Leagues continued last week with away games for both of our teams. We took on Emyvale in Division One on Thursday. Points from Shay Cooney (two) and Ben Myers were all we could manage in the first half, which ended with Emyvale two goals clear at 2-3 to 0-3. Our lads were on the front foot for much of the second half, but scores by Shay, Daragh Croarkin and James Curley weren’t enough to avoid a 3-6 to 1-8 defeat.

Team and scorers: Karol Parszywka; Jordan Crampton, James Curley (0-1), Josh Lavery; Mark McManus, Kevin Moran, Gary Devlin; Daragh Croarkin (0-1f), Liam Conway (Capt.); Jake McConnon, Jake Power, Shea Swift; Josh Kelly, Shay Cooney (1-5, 1-0 pen, 0-3f), Ben Myers (0-1).

Subs used: Jamie Coyle, Luke McManus, Michael McMorrow.

Our Division Five team travelled to Tyholland in Division Five on Friday. The lads put in a spirited effort throughout, with some good performances and subs Gregory O’Connell and Conor Treanor joining Luke McManus and Karol Parszywka on the scoresheet, but Tyholland’s strong start gave them the cushion to come out on top.

Team and scorers: Oisín Reilly; Jordan Crampton, Mark McManus; Michael McMorrow, Gary Devlin; Ben Myers, Josh Lavery; Jake McConnon, Shea Swift; Luke McManus (2-4), Karol Parszywka (1-0).

Subs used: Gregory O’Connell (0-1), Conor Treanor (0-2), Dean Conlon, Eoin McCleary.

U-13: Our U-13 Division One team finished all-square with Castleblayney after an exciting finish at Gavan Duffy Park last Saturday. Senan Cudden, Jack Lynch, Fionán Ó Gallchóir, Cian Bradley, Oisín Treanor, Morgan Coyle and Eoin O’Hanlon were all on target for our lads, who battled their way to a draw (4-6 to 2-12).

Team and scorers: Oisín Reilly; Dáire Conlon, Shane Moran; Mark Clerkin, Ethan Ballantine, Ethan McCaffrey; Senan Cudden (0-1), Jack Lynch (1-0); Fionán Ó Gallchóir (0-1), Cian Bradley (1-2), Oisín Treanor (1-1); Morgan Coyle (1-0), Eoin O’Hanlon (0-1).

Sub used: Kyle Cooney.

Our Division One team are away to Truagh on Tuesday at 7pm.

U-11: Our U-11 teams continued the Spring League with an entertaining double-header away to Castleblayney last Saturday. Magheracloone were our visitors for another double-bill on Tuesday evening (April 17).

County: Well done to Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Lochlainn Power and the county minor footballers on winning their Ulster league final against Donegal last Saturday. Both Harps players impressed, with Ógie captaining the team with another fine performance and Lochlainn capping his efforts with a spectacular goal. Good luck to all involved in this Saturday’s Ulster U-17 FC preliminary-round game away to Derry.

Schools: Hard luck to Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh, Andrew Lyden, Luke Coyle, Zach Mallen, Oisín Power, Jamie McCarron, Anann Connor and the Coláiste Oiriall, Monaghan senior team on their narrow Ward Cup Final defeat against Finn Valley College, Stranorlar last Thursday.
