Prior to the Halloween Break, Monaghan Coaching & Games organised a 3rd/4th Class Football Blitz and a 5th/6th Class Hurling Blitz. These blitzes were open to boys and girls, and were held over two days at the Monaghan GAA Training Centre in Cloghan.

Schools who attended on the days included Gaelscoil Lorgan, Corduff, Urbleshanny, Oram, Rackwallace, Knockatallon, Tydavnet, Latnamard, Glaslough, Deravoy, Knockconan, Threemilehouse, Monaghan BNS, Annyalla, Ballynagearn, Drumgossatt, Broomfield, Ballybay, Edenmore, Gaelscoil Eois, Garron, Latton, Loughmourne & Monaghan GNS.

Every team played a minimum of 2 matches, with the Go Games playing format being applied throughout the two days. We had 10 pitches in operation at any given time, with 3 periods of 7 minutes playing time per match.

We would like to thank the teachers and assistants who took their students to the blitz. Also a big thank you to the TY referees from both St Macartan’s College and Our Lady’s Secondary School who officiated on both days. Thanks to all the schools who took part and who made the blitz a huge success.
