MAGUIRE TRANSPORT MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION 2 FINAL.
Latton 4-11, Emyvale 0-14.
A resurgent Latton clinched the Maguire Transport minor football championship division 2 title with an increasingly effective second-half performance that saw off the challenge of Emyvale in this entertaining and at times exciting contest that was played as the curtain raiser to the final of the McElvaney’s Waste & Recycling intermediate football championship in Inniskeen on Sunday afternoon last. Emyvale had marginally the better of things in the 1st half and probably should have been ahead at the break as opposed to being level but 9 wides in that period including 3 from frees tells its own story. A two-goal salvo in the opening minutes of the second-half gave Latton the platform on which to build for victory and with Conor McCabe orchestrating from midfield they consolidated and closed the game out with a 4th goal in the final minute of normal time to win by 9 at the finish.
