Toome 1-14, Doohamlet 1-13.

Two late points, one from a free by Frank Connolly, and the other by James Wilson saw Toome snatch the narrowest of victories over Doohamlet in this hugely entertaining, full-blooded contest that built to an exhilarating finish in Blackhill on Sunday evening last. Earlier in the contest Doohamlet looked reasonably well in control when they opened a 5 points lead approaching half-time and extended that lead to 6 a minute into the 2^nd half but from there to the finish this developed into a helter-skelter contest with Toome becoming increasingly effective, particularly out around the middle 3^rd as they repeatedly turned Doohamlet over and then hit them to telling effect on counter attacks, an aspect of their play that saw all 6 starting forwards on the score sheet while only 3 of Doohamlet’s starting attack registered. The result sees Doohamlet exit the series while Toome are very much back in contention and on this form can have a say in the ultimate destination of the intermediate championship title.
