Jackpot for Sunday, January 22 is €1,100 and Mary and Fergus Coyle are on duty. Lotto draw takes place in our clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome. Charity match: All funds raised from our New Year’s Day charity match will go to a local charity/charities to be named soon. Any sponsorship forms still to be returned must be left into the clubhouse or to organisers Owen Connell and Mary White as soon as possible.

 

Seniors: We have been drawn to play Magheracloone in the preliminary round of the 2017 Senior Football Championship. We are delighted to welcome Laurence Strain and Barry McGinn to our senior football management team, with another selector/selectors to be confirmed.

 

Minors: Expressions of interest in managing our 2017 minor football team should be sent to Lorcan McAdam (087 8505446) by this Sunday, January 22.

 

Membership: Registration fees of €20 for 2017 can now be paid to club registrar Kevin Treanor or in the clubhouse. Members can now avail of the GAA’s new ‘GRMA’ scheme, with access to exclusive discounts and special offers. See gaa.ie for more details.

 

Dates to remember: Monaghan Arch Club will return to Gavan Duffy Park for their always anticipated annual visit on February 9. All support for this will be greatly appreciated. We will be participating and hosting at Féile Peil na nÓg 2017 (June 23-25). Keep an eye on club notes for more details on these events. Scór Sinsear takes place this Saturday (January 21) in Tullycorbet.

 

Club Draw: The GAA National Club Draw is back for 2017, once again offering a great selection of prizes. Keep an eye on club notes for details of tickets.

 

History social night: As part of compiling a club history, we will be hosting another reminiscence evening in early 2017: keep an eye on club notes for more details.

 

Coaching: There are several upcoming coaching courses/workshops in Cloghan. Check the Monaghan GAA website and contact Pádraig Callan if you wish to attend any.

 

County awards night: Monaghan GAA’s annual awards presentation night will be held in the Hillgrove Hotel this Friday (January 20).

Gavan Duffy Park: The refurbished Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. We are now taking bookings for 2017; please get in early to avoid disappointment! Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience.
