Congratulations to our Mitchell representatives Jayme Lambe, Joe Kirk and Ben Mc Connon and all the Patrician High School 2^nd year team on winning the Ulster schools Loch an Luir final today, beating St. Eunan’s of Letterkenny 0-12 to 1-5

Death of Brendan Duffy

Magheracloone Mitchells GFC and the wider community of Magheracloone were deeply shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Brendan Duffy, formerly of Ballynagearn.

Brendan played for the Mitchells at all grades over the years and was widely regarded as an outstanding defender.

He won a Junior B Championship in 1973 and the following year he was a member of the Magheracloone team which won the Brennan Cup for the first time.

This was a very proud moment for Brendan as he was joined on the team by his three brothers, Larry, Paddy and Ollie.

In 1983, Brendan’s football career reached its pinnacle when he captained the team to win the Junior double of Hugh Brady Cup and Vincent Duffy Cup.
