A somewhat more versatile Donaghmoyne clinched the Platinum Tanks sponsored reserve football league division 1B title at the expense of Aughnamullen in this entertaining, high-scoring game that was played in chilly and somewhat blustery conditions in Inniskeen on Friday evening last. Donaghmoyne laid the foundation for victory during the final 10 minutes of the 1^st half when they outscored the opposition by 6 points to 1 to lead by 1-11 to 1-5 at the break, and they continued in that rich vein of form in the 3^rd quarter during which they registered a further 1-5 as opposed to a single point by Aughnamullen to lead by 13 points going into the final quarter. In that final quarter though they were fighting a rearguard action as a resurgent Aughnamullen staged a battling finish to outscore the eventual winners by 1-5 to 0-1, but overall, Donaghmoyne had done enough earlier to hold out for a deserved 6 points victory.
