Doohamlet Notes
Senior League: Monaghan Harps 2-13 Doohamlet 1-08 Doohamlet began their Senior League campaign with a disappointing result against Monaghan Harps on Sunday last. Our gameplan suffered a serious setback after only seven minutes when we were reduced to 14 men and thereafter it was always an uphill battle against last season county finalists. To their credit Doohamlet battled bravely and only four points separated the sides at half time 1-06 to 1-02 Barry McBennett with the goal and Barry McGinn with our two points. The home side continued to dominate the second half with a number of excellent long range points with Doohamlet forwards struggling for scores. Kevin McArdle, Damian Ward, Conor Marray and Colin Walshe were most impressive in an overworked defence with Jamie Walshe, Barry McGinn and Barry McBennett our only scorers in the forward line. A lot of work to be done before we play country champions Scotstown in our next fixture on Saturday 9th April.
