Minor and U17 Ulster Leagues set to commence

March 18th, 2016

Tomorrow  Saturday the 19th  of March will see the start of the the Minor and U17s Ulster Football Leagues. Both teams will take part in Group A which contains Down, Cavan and Armagh. The u17’s is a new departure in this format this year and will generally play after the Minors at the same venue.

Tomorrow both games take place in Inniskeen with Down the opposition. The Minors throw in at 12 noon while the U17s game will have a 1.30pm start.

The Minor Panel  for tomorrow will be depleted(from the one below) due to Patrician High School Senior and U16 and a half teams still being involved in the chase for All Ireland glory, alongside a few niggly injuries.

The u17s will also play Down with a 1.30pm throw in time. This team is managed by former County Chairperson Paul Curran ably assisted by Mark Duffy of Scotstown, Conor Fadian, Clontibret and Pádraig Treanor of Truagh. They will be fielding an understrength team tomorrow as some players at this age are already involved with the minor panel and a further 10 are still involved in school’s competition either with the Mac Larnon or the  Rannafast Squad for the Patrician High School.
