Jackpot for Sunday, November 2 is €3,100. The Lotto plays an essential part in the running of the club and we ask for everyone’s continued support. Tickets can be left into the clubhouse from 7.45pm each Sunday.

Seniors: Our senior footballers play the last round of the league away to Castleblayney this Sunday at 12 noon. We need a win to secure a semi-final place and all support would be greatly appreciated!

U-16: Our double-winning Under-16 footballers enter the Paul McGirr Ulster Championship in Dromore with a quarter-final against Derry champions St. Canice’s, Dungiven this Saturday at 6pm. Best of luck to the players and management.

Recreational Tournament: Our annual recreational football tournament in memory of deceased club members took place at Gavan Duffy Park last Sunday. Two Harps teams competed, along with Scotstown, Truagh, Eskra (Tyrone) and Dromahair (Leitrim). After coming through a tough group, the first Harps team got the better of Scotstown in a hard-fought final to retain the Cup, while Truagh defeated Dromahair in the Shield decider and Eskra saw off the second Harps team to win the Plate. The money raised will once again go to the North Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support group and we greatly appreciate the support of everyone involved, particularly the teams who travelled to take part in what was a very enjoyable day. Full report next week.

Poker: The Monaghan Harps Poker Classic drew a nice crowd to the clubhouse last Saturday night. 1st: Ozzie Hughes; 2nd David Hughes; 3rd: Patsy Hanratty; 4th: Neil McAdam. Thanks on behalf of the club to everyone who took part and well done to Peter Coyle and everyone involved in organising this fundraiser.

Halloween: The club is supporting the Monaghan Town Halloween Festival this weekend. Stewards are needed between 5.30 and 7pm tomorrow (Friday, October 31) and for two-hour slots between 2 and 9pm on Saturday, November 1. Please contact Dermot Coyle on 086 0734098 to volunteer.

Meeting: The next meeting regarding recruiting coaches to the club is on tonight (Thursday, October 30) at 8.30pm. For anyone interested in taking up coaching, there is a foundation course in Cloghan at the end of November.

Garda vetting: Club members who have received their Garda vetting clearance forms are asked to send a photocopy of same to Thomas McCabe.

AGM: The club’s Annual General Meeting will take place in the clubhouse on Thursday, November 27, with the juvenile AGM on a week earlier (November 20).

Good luck: Best wishes on behalf of all Harps people to the senior ladies in the Ulster Club IFC Final against Four Masters from Donegal at Brewster Park, Enniskillen this Sunday.
