Universal Graphics Ireland

Blackhill and Drumhowan will contest next month’s Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Final after their semi-final wins over the weekend. Five points from Michael Geehan helped Blackhill emerge from a low-scoring clash with Scotstown on Saturday evening, while Colm Lambe and Aidan Duffy were the goal-scorers as Drumhowan surprisingly cruised past a disappointing Aughnamullen on Sunday.

The McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship began this weekend, with a Ronan Burke goal guiding Cremartin to victory against Corduff on Saturday and Michael Lennon netting the only major of Inniskeen’s win over Seán McDermotts. Jonathan McCrossan hit 2-2 as Donaghmoyne edged an exciting battle with Carrickmacross on Sunday, while the double-header in Scotstown produced two draws. Late points by Fergal McGeough and Mark Daly helped Rockcorry complete their comeback against Clones, before added-time frees from Paul Askin and Ryan McKenna rescued Tyholland against Emyvale. The Clones v Rockcorry and Emyvale v Tyholland replays will take place in Emyvale and Inniskeen respectively on Wednesday night. The losers of the former game and the winners of the latter will be involved in a double-bill in Castleblayney next Sunday; against Seán McDermotts and Donaghmoyne respectively, while Aughnamullen will host the Round 1B game between Carrickmacross and Corduff.
