Seniors: Friday’s scheduled SFL game against Latton has been postponed due to the county team’s qualifier next weekend.

Reserves: A much-changed O’Duffy Cup team let a lead slip in the dying minutes of a high-scoring league game away to Latton last Wednesday evening. Latton hit 1-1 early on, before points from Niall Treanor and Evan Doherty, either side of a Liam Hahessy goal, turned it in our favour. Latton responded with four unanswered points and although Brendan McQuaid, Niall and Evan kept us in touch, we trailed by 1-8 to 1-6 at half-time. We were again slow to settle after the restart, with Latton rattling in 1-2 before a Niall Greenan point and a brace from Liam kept us in contention. A purple patch saw goals by Liam and Conor Burns and points from Liam (two) and Michael Galligan edge us ahead, but Latton hit the last 1-2 to win the game by 3-14 to 3-12 and consign us to relegation to RFL Division 1B.

Team and scorers: Ronan McGann; Aidan Connell, Dónal McCarthy, Pauric Murphy; Paul Smyth, Michael Galligan (0-1), Turlough Clerkin; Niall Treanor (0-2), Paddy Connolly; Francis Lynch, Brendan McQuaid (0-1), Carl Foentjies; Cónall McKenna, Evan Doherty (Capt., 0-3, 2f), Liam Hahessy (2-4, 0-2f).

Subs: Niall Greenan (0-1) for Smyth, John Mulligan for Lynch, Éimhín Morahan for Connolly (all H-T), Conor Burns (1-0) for McQuaid (43 mins).

Our McKeown Cup team have a league game at home to Clones tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 8pm, while the championship semi-final against Truagh has been set for Friday week, August 1, at 7.30pm.

U-21: Our Under-21s fell to a 1-16 to 1-12 defeat away to Scotstown last Friday. Points by Niall Greenan and Michael Galligan got us off to a good start, although we missed some chances to move further clear. Niall added another three points by the end of the first half and Francis Lynch and Michael were also on target to make it 0-7 to 0-5 in our lads’ favour. Scotstown won the third quarter by 1-7 to 0-1, with our only reply coming from Francie, and although four points from Niall and a goal by Fearghal McMahon brought the Harps back to within a point late on, the hosts hit the last three scores to kill the game off.

Team and scorers: Ryan Shields; Pauric Murphy, Dónal McCarthy, John Mulligan; Turlough Clerkin, Mustafa Gamal, Conor Burns; James McKenna, Kevin Loughran; Carl Foentjies, Michael Galligan (0-2), Niall Greenan (0-8, 4f); David Mullen, Fearghal McMahon (1-0), Francis Lynch (0-2).

Subs: Éimhín Morahan for Mullen (H-T), David Lowry for Murphy (38), Evan Doherty for Lynch (41), Colm Flynn for McKenna (48).

Next up is an away game against Emyvale this Sunday at 2pm.

Minors: Our minors have a championship quarter-final away to Donaghmoyne this evening (Tuesday) at 7.30. We are away to Killanny in the league next Tuesday.

U-16: Our Under-16 footballers’ winning run ended with a narrow defeat against Magheracloone in Kingscourt last Thursday night. The lads have another away game this Thursday evening against Corduff.

Team: Dylan McAree, Seán McKenna, Niall McManus, James Bourke; Niall Ward, Jamie Shields, Thomas Croarkin; Shane McMahon, Remy McKenna; Nathan O’Donoghue, Ben Kearns-Flynn, Ethan Murphy; Jack Deery, Dylan Duffy, Conor Duffy.

Subs used: Zack Mallen, Conor McCrystal.

U-14: Our Under-14 Division One team face Emyvale this evening (Tuesday), with both teams due to play in Carrickmacross this Saturday. Check website for throw-in times.

U-12: Our Under-12 Division 1A team finished our group games with a 5-11 to 1-9 win away to Carrickmacross last Saturday. Two goals by Dylan Ballantine and one by Josh Maguire helped us lead by 3-5 to 0-6 at half-time, with Eoghan McGinnity also among the scorers. Dylan netted another two after the restart and points from Eoghan, Josh, Joshua Clerkin and Jake Power ensured we stayed well ahead, as did some fine defending at the other end. A rejigged team played some good football in the other period, with Tiarnán O’Rourke, Liam Conway and Craig Cooney (returning from injury) getting on the scoresheet.

Team and scorers: Daragh Croarkin; Tiarnán O’Rourke, Liam Conway; Deividas Kaklauskas, James McKenny; Dean Doherty (Capt.), Joshua Clerkin (0-1); Eoghan McGinnity (0-5, 1f), Josh Maguire (1-1f); Dylan Ballantine (4-2), Brian McAteer.

Subs used: Jake Power (0-2, 1f), Craig Cooney.

Our Division 3B team fell to their first defeat when they lost at home to Finn Rua. A slow start saw the Clones/Currin amalgamation open up an eight-point lead and although our lads showed good character to get back into contention, they fell away in the closing minutes.

Team: Tom Dauksts; Ryan McSkeane (Capt.), Mark McManus; Che Treanor, Lukas Virfilas; Evan Meehan, Scott Cooney; Jamie Cooney, Jamie Coyle; Dean Conlon, Conor Treanor.

Subs used: Nathan Boylan, Morgan Coyle, Aidan Cunningham.

The Division 1A team now await other results to find out our next fixture, while the Division 3B lads travel to Scotstown on Tuesday evening.

County teams: Hard luck to Conor Galligan, Shane Smyth and the Monaghan senior footballers on their Ulster SFC Final defeat against Donegal last Sunday. They play Kildare in Croke Park on Saturday week, August 2.

Summer Camps: We will be hosting a Harps Summer Camp on the week of August 18-22 for children aged between six and 12. Forms are now available from club members. More details to follow.

Hurling: Our Under-16 hurlers lost narrowly in a keenly-contested game at home to Cootehill on Monday evening. With Dylan McAree hitting some impressive long-range points, the Harps led at half-time and despite conceding two goals after the restart, an Aidan Burns major kept them just ahead, only for Cootehill to storm to a 2-17 to 2-13 victory in an exciting finish. The semi-final is due to be played next week, while the Under-12s are set to host Truagh in the shield semi next Monday. Gavan Duffy Park is the venue for the SHC semi-final between Inniskeen and Truagh on Thursday at 8pm.
