Congratulation to Drumhowan’s  Scór na nÓg Instrumental Group (Éimear and Conor Quinn, Stephen and Colm Mc Mahon and Finbarr Brennan) who became only the 2nd team from Ulster in over 40 years of Scór na nOg to regain their All Ireland Crown. On Saturday in Castlebar they overcame opposition from Cork, Offaly and Sligo. Afterwards in the Royal Theatre Castlebar they received their All Ireland Medals from President of the GAA Liam O Neill. On Sunday the victorious team were welcomed home to Tullycorbet Community Centre. Present at the informal function from the Co. Board were Chairperson – Pádraig Sherry, Children’s Officer – John Mc Ardle, Irish and Cultural Officer Séamus Mc Elwain and secretary of the Irish and Cultural Committee Pauline Rooney. Chairperson of the Drumhowan Club Martin Mc Elearney welcomed all present and congratulated all the young musicians for putting Drumhowan and Tullycorbet on the map. Chairperson of Tullycorbet Community Group John Lennon also spoke as did Pauline Grogan our Cultural Officer. Anthony Brennan also told us about the history of Scór in the area. The final words were left to the man himself and tutor of the group Mr Francis Mc Mahon who along with the famous five made it all possible.

Also a  big mention to the Drumhowan Quiz team of Colm and Stephen Mc Mahon, Finbarr Brennan and Patrick Duffy who finished a credible 4th out of 28th teams.
