Sean’s Notes

Sympathy. Our thoughts this week are with the Mc Connon and Sherdian families. The news of the sudden death of Pat Sherdian has been received with overwhelming shock and utter disbelief in our club community. We offer our deepest and hear felt sympathy to his heart broken wife Darina. Darina and her two boys are in our thoughts and prayers. Sympathy is also extended to the Lynch family circle on the death of Austin. Go ndeana Dia trocaire ar a anamacha.

Committee Meeting.  The newly elected committee hold their first meeting this week, no doubt high on the agenda will be the filling of the vacant positions around the table; not to mention the appointment of a new team manager for the coming season. At least the good news on that front is that a number of club members have expressed interest in guiding the fortunes of our adult teams for 2013.  Will keep ye posted when we see any development or get white smoke on either front.

Bowls. Indoor bowls continues on Thursday nights  from 8.00 -10.30, note the earlier starting time; it is planned though to take a night off on Thur. 27th and probably resume activities on  3rd January, new members always welcome. On the league front last weeks scheduled home joust with Ardaghey didn’t materialise but that situation was resolve on Tuesday night when our boys made the short trip, hopefully coming away with the points required to push them to the top of the league table.
