AGM: Our AGM was held on Sunday last in the Clubhouse.  Club Secretary, Damien Murphy, ran through the events of the past year and this was followed by a detailed financial report from our Treasurer, John Connolly. John praised the efforts of Aghabog’s dedicated team of Lotto Sellers who he described as the ‘heartbeat of the club’. He urged more people to sign up and make the effort to sell even a few lotto’s each week as this would make a huge difference to the club’s main source of income. Youth Officer, Eugene Burn, outlined the exploits of our underage teams and paid tribute to all the parents and mentors who assisted with our teams throughout the year and also to the huge effort that was been invested at Latnamard NS. Cultural Officer, Pat Conway, gave a thorough run through of how Aghabog had fared in this year’s Scor competitions. Chairman, Tony McGorman, praised our Senior panel for reaching the Junior League final and although the season had ended on a disappointing note, the young players coming through meant the groundwork had been laid for a big push for honours in 2013.

LADIES NOTES

Old phone collection: The final call regarding the old mobile phone collection. The club joined forces with the Jack & Jill foundation some months ago to raise funds. The club will get a set of jerseys for the underage teams and the Jack & Jill foundation will receive money if we reach our target. We need another 100 phones for this. A collection box is located in Gallagher’s shop. So dig out your old phones and support this worthy cause.

County Dinner dance:  Congratulations to Caitlin and Katie who received their Ulster U/14 Championship medals and Ellen, Anita and Laura who collected their All Ireland national league and Ulster Championship medals at the county dinner dance last Friday night.
