Ballybay have been joined by Carrickmacross at the top of the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League after round four was played on Wednesday. The heavy rain claimed one game – Magheracloone v Ballybay – meaning that Carrick’s two-point over Truagh took them onto the same number of points (six) as the Pearse Brothers, albeit with a game more played. Castleblayney are a point behind in third after they drew with Clontibret, while Monaghan Harps sit fourth after they also shared the spoils with Currin. Fresh from a historic first SFL win last Sunday, Currin almost managed another when they took a two-point lead late on at Gavan Duffy Park, with Stephen Smyth kicking seven points, but two late scores by Donal Hahessy saved the Harps. Latton moved off the bottom of the table when they repeated last year’s SFC Final win over Scotstown. This time, the county champions had it much easier, as Hugh McElroy inspired them to a six-point victory; their first of the season in his first appearance of 2012.

There are now four teams tied at the top of the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League. Doohamlet are in front on score-difference after they beat Toome, while Tyholland caught up with Aughnamullen thanks to a five-point win over the Sarsfields and Donaghmoyne battled to victory to Cremartin to join the other trio on six points. Rockcorry and Corduff both got off the mark, comfortably defeating Inniskeen and Seán McDermotts respectively to leave four teams bunched at the bottom of the table.

Emyvale – one of just two teams with a 100% record so far, alongside Ballybay – edged out Aghabog in a low-scoring game to take first place in the Eurotech Junior Football League, a point ahead of Oram, who lost to Drumhowan. Elsewhere, Killeevan got their second win at the expense of Éire Óg and Clones defeated Killanny by the narrowest of margins to ensure that all 29 clubs competing in the SFL, IFL and JFL have won at least once each.
